shattered glass goes...POP!
Yup, unusual, but true. Shattered glass makes a popping, sizzling sound; even if they are, well, shattered, lifeless, useless etc. Just 2 hours ago, our vehicle hit the railing in the multi-storey carpark.
I was asleep after a very nice dinner treat from my uncle in a restaurant (Far East SHOPPING CENTRE, SHASLIK Restaurant a.k.a Lao Ren Can coz all waiters/waitresses are senior citizens. But back to the main point.) in the car, then we reached the carpark. My mother and sister were having a friendly feud about braces and Zara and all of a sudden...POUND! POUND!!! sizzle...pop..All of us hung that 'oh dear' look on our faces. My sister, who's sitting at the back, thought that she was dead.
When we head to the back, not one single piece of glass was left. All the pieces were scattered everywhere...even down a floor landing on a couple of motorbikes. Curious uncles soon came and gave their friendly advices. Some lingered for a while, one provided a useful hotline, one criticised the design of the multi-storey carpark.
My sister and I thought about the same idea first, parking the car in a friend's private property and go and claim it for repair the next day. With the plan still not yet settled, my sis head home to get some clear foil and sticky tape. She returned on her bike, together with Yellow Pages.
While she was gone, Mama swept the broken glass. It was basically everywhere. She relocated the car (funnily enough, the friendly uncles - which I question their friendliness to kaypoh-ness - followed) and continued clearing the boot. Here's the thing. The glasses were...~Tragically Beautiful~. I hate to admit it, but looking at the intricate patterns created by the enormous impact...its simply too pur-ty. I kept a few pieces (the small ones really really looked like diamonds) but was later thrown away by Mama. I tried to capture the beautiful shattered glasses but it was simply too dark.
I'm now back at home, still quite unable to recover from the "shock". Sis and Mama went to find a 24-hours repairing service. Wish them luck. :|
